Play Me
Each music box is one of a kind with original characters, scenes, mechanics and accompanying music. The imagery for the boxes is based on Lanina's paintings, which form the basis of the "mise-en-scène", characters, and the story. The box hides a wind-up mechanism which controls the movement of the figures and plays a custom-composed melody particular to each scene.

The box hides a wind-up mechanism which controls the movement of the figures and plays a custom-composed melody particular to each scene.
The music is played by a revolving brass cylinder that plucks the tuned teeth of a steel comb.
