Felininity
In touch with Felininity and Meowsculinity
Cats and humans have had a complicated relationship. It started about 10,000 to 12,000 years ago. In ancient Egypt, cats were treated as divine creatures. Killing a cat was punished by death. In 13th century Europe, cats became associated with the devil and darkness and were frequently tortured and killed. Women who talked to cats were considered witches and burned at the stake alongside their feline friends. The cat's poor reputation was their association with the feminine, their feline power was deemed dangerous.
In this work, cats and humans merge into one. These anthropomorphic felines are feminine, sensual, fun and mysterious. They invite us to get in touch with our adventurous, sexy and wise parts of ourselves, to take ourselves and life less seriously and more joyfully.
